Hi, I’m Tasha! I live with Angelman syndrome, and my family started this non-profit to raise awareness and provide a helping hand to other kids and families navigating life with Angelman syndrome.

Our Vision
At the Filipovich Family Foundation, we believe every soul is created equal. When we reject others based on physical appearance, cognitive capacity, or socioeconomic status, we reject a part of our own humanity. By embracing our differences with compassion and gratitude, we build a stronger, more inclusive nation.
Our Mission
We are dedicated to reforming restrictive policies and attitudes affecting children and adults with developmental disabilities. Through global collaboration with government agencies and like-minded nonprofits, we transform lives by creating environments where everyone is viewed as an inspiration.
How We Create Change
-
Inclusive Communities: Developing innovative educational centers, after-school programs, and peer-interaction initiatives to bridge the gap between all abilities.
-
Advanced Care: Implementing cutting-edge therapeutic methods, including gene, energy, movement, and nutritional therapies.
-
Family Support: Providing financial assistance and expert-led education to empower families, reduce institutionalization, and keep families united.
Filipovich Family Foundation Support Group
Caring for a loved one with a rare disorder like Angelman syndrome can feel incredibly isolating. Information is often hard to find, and it’s tough to talk to people who haven’t walked in your shoes. You don’t have to do this alone.
Why Join Our Support Group?
Sometimes, the best medicine is talking to someone you don’t have to explain the diagnosis to—someone who just gets it. Our closed support groups offer a sense of belonging and a space to share information about treatment options and daily life.
How to Join To participate in our AS support group, please email us at [email protected] with the following details:
-
Your name and telephone number
-
Your preferred language
-
Your child’s age and date of diagnosis
-
The specific area where you’re looking for support
We will do our best to match you with a group of supporters who understand exactly what you are going through.
